Wedding dress patterns

After much googling, I selected three patterns to order. My criteria were: must have sleeves (with I'll lengthen to 3/4), A-line shape and not too big in the skirt.

First a current simplicity pattern from their retro-look line (4259). This is my least favourtie, though I do like the neck line on the left version.

Second, a 1980s Simplicty pattern (5440). The fabric that was chosen here is not my cup of tea. However, I do like the shape.

Finally, a current vogue (V2788). I like the back of the bodice on this one - it's a little more interesting than the others. Though, I'm not sure about the sleeves.

I started on the Vogue pattern. See the next post for my muslin version.

Hello Sarah,

First of all my complements for your dress! It's beautiful, even on the photo's where you still were working on it.

I am from Holland, so I hope you
will excuse me if my English is not that good.

Let me explain my situation.

My daughter asked me to make her weddingdress and of course I said yes. But: she saw a dress in a bridalshop and I cannot find the exact pattern.

When I was searching on the internet,I found three models that I liked. When I Googled V2788, I found your weblog.
I was very suprised to see that you used ALL THREE the models I like the most!! But which I cannot order anywhere in the size I need :-(

The dress my daughter saw is a combination of the three dresses you used. Mostly the Vogue V2788 but with the back of Mc Calls 9126 and the skirt of Simplicitiy 4259...

So you see, complecated. But most complecated of all is to find these patterns in the right size. She wears a (Dutch) size 38, in American size a 10.

So now I will ask you something. (I know its a bit strange to ask but I am getting desperate).
Would you please sell your patterns to me??
I realy hope so. Please let me know.

Thank you for reading my cry for help.

Dorien
